Join us at the West Michigan Climate Action Forum, a community gathering hosted by GVMC, KERAMIDA, and the Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, aimed at shaping the sustainable future of our region. This collaborative event invites residents, leaders, and stakeholders to actively participate in the creation of the West Michigan Climate Action Plan. Through this collaborative event, we’ll present ideas and strategies geared toward reducing greenhouse gas emissions across our region. Together, we’ll delve into constructive discussions to identify potential barriers that might hinder these initiatives and collectively brainstorm innovative solutions. Your unique insights and perspectives are crucial as we work together to overcome challenges and chart a path toward a more sustainable Western Michigan.

At this event, your voice matters. From breakout sessions that explore barriers to group discussions proposing solutions, every participant’s input will be valued. Join us in actively shaping the priorities of our Climate Action Plan by sharing your thoughts, voting on proposed ideas, and contributing to the development of a plan that truly represents the diverse needs, concerns, and aspirations of Western Michigan’s vibrant communities.

The West Michigan Climate Action Plan will serve as the Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) for the Grand-Rapids-Kent Metropolitan Statistical Area (Kent, Ottawa, Ionia, and Montcalm counties) as part of the US EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG) Program.  This plan will allow local communities to compete for $4.6 billion in implementation grant funding in the spring of 2014.

Lunch will be provided.
