Join West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, The Rapid, and Grand Rapids Bicycle Coalition for a discussion on how sustainable transportation can benefit community, air quality, and personal health.

Single-occupancy vehicles are the main method of commute for many West Michiganders. This mode of transportation creates more traffic on our roadways, emits more greenhouse gases into our atmosphere, and comes with higher costs in gas, parking, and vehicle maintenance. In this discussion, we’ll take a look at other modes of transportation such as bus, carpool and biking and how these options can save us time and money while reducing carbon emissions.

We’ll also introduce Grand Rapids Active Commute Week, a community-wide initiative to encourage the widespread use of alternative modes of transportation where participants can log their “green trips” and see how much they’re reducing their carbon footprint in Grand Rapids.
