West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum will host a discussion on the evolving role of solar power in sustainable business, focusing on co-benefits and development considerations.

Featured speakers are John Kinch, Executive Director of Michigan Energy Options and Tyler Kanczuzewski, Vice President of Marketing & Sustainability at Inovateus Solar.

Already the most accessible means for Michigan businesses and communities to invest in local renewable energy production, modern solar developments are offering increased benefits due to greater efficiency and footprint requirements, their ability to support habitat conservation and green infrastructure, make marginal development land productive, and to seamlessly support corporate and community carbon goals.

Inovateus will share its principles for “Modern Day Sustainable Solar Development,” which will outline the co-benefits of solar and detail how it is working to increase efficiency and reduce waste in its projects. Michigan Energy Options will highlight its recent work to bring distributed solar and community solar to public places and communities.

Some of the projects featured in the discussion will include the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Energy Transition Plan, the East Lansing Community Solar Park, an Indiana toll road, and solar panel recycling.
