Join Michigan Sustainable Business Forum for a discussion on how the politicization of diversity equity and inclusion initiatives is impacting the workplace, government and especially public and private education.  Across the nation, DEI policies have become a frequent point of controversy at school board meetings and in state legislatures.  Higher education alone has been targeted by 34 bills in 20 states.

In this webinar, Dr.Candy McCorkle, Vice President of Diversity and Inclusion at Western Michigan University, will define Critical Race Theory and provide clarification on how it is distinct from Diversity, Equity and Inclusion practice and policies.  She will introduce her recent research on political weaponization of DEI and how legislatures and other actors are restricting training, positions, programs and funding at both public and private institutions of higher education, and the implications for the workforce and sustainable business.

This program will further explore how such efforts are impacting education at all levels and business and institutional efforts to create environments that are diverse and inclusive.
