Join Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and Migrant Legal Aid on May 21 for a webinar highlighting The Michigan Fair Food Project; a solution to ensure equitable and humane treatment of farmworkers and their families.

Migrant Legal Aid partners with food producers, retailers, consumers and employers to ensure farmworkers are humanely treated in the process of getting food to market. This Midwest-based project  monitors seasonal working conditions of farmworkers and empowers producers who strive for ethical behavior towards farmworkers. This Midwest-based project also enables consumer choices that support its members. The Michigan Fair Food Project is the missing link in Michigan’s food system.

This project is crucial to Michigan because of the state’s heavy dependence on agriculture and agricultural labor. In fact, there are over 94,000 migrant and seasonal farmworkers and their family members in Michigan who handle 45 different crops. The Fair Food Project of Migrant Legal Aid positively impacts this large, often vulnerable, population.
