Maureen Stroud

Green Electronics Council & Principal – Shinka Sustainability Consultants

Maureen Stroud is Senior Manager of Ecolabels and Manufacturer Resources at the Green Electronics Council where she is responsible for the third party verification and testing of electronic equipment certified to the EPEAT certification. In addition, she manages Shinka Sustainability Consultants and focuses on corporate sustainability consulting including strategy development, waste and circular economy strategies, and emissions reduction strategies. Stroud teaches a course on sustainability reporting for energy, air, transportation and buildings at the Institute of Environmental Sustainability
at Loyola University in Chicago. Prior to her current roles, Stroud managed the North America and Global Carbon programs at Whirlpool Corporation. In her role at Whirlpool, she was responsible for Whirlpool’s North American Sustainability Strategy and managed the sustainability initiatives for products under the Amana, Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, and Jenn-Aire Brands. 
 
Previously, she developed sustainability standards for products in the building industry, managed a university sustainability program, provided sustainability and risk assessment services for large industrial and commercial clients, and managed hazardous waste remediation projects.
 
Maureen holds a B.S. in Environmental Science from Saint Mary’s College of California and went on to earn a M.S. in Corporate Environmental Management and Sustainability and an M.B.A. in Entrepreneurship from the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

Maureen has been a WMSBF Board Member since 2020.
