Hanna De La Vega Sánchez

Sustainability Associate (Spanish-Speaking)

Hanna De La Vega Sanchez serves as the Forum’s Spanish-speaking Sustainability Associate, where she works to reduce barriers to participation in sustainability and sustainable business practices for diverse communities. Fluent in Spanish and English, she provides critical education and technical assistance to community and business leaders, helping drive environmental and economic progress across Michigan.

Her professional journey includes a B.S. in Environmental Sustainability from Cornerstone University, where she founded and led a campus sustainability group that continues to influence university operations. She has participated in international environmental initiatives, including her role as a COP28 Observer and a Community Manager Assistant with the Global Youth Coalition.

A committed advocate for social and environmental justice, De La Vega Sanchez has co-hosted projects like Reeforesting4Peace, which integrated global conservation education with content creation. She continues to focus on reducing barriers to sustainability for BIPOC communities and advancing opportunities for Hispanic businesses.

Outside of work, De La Vega Sanchez enjoys exploring new places, music, trying new food, and doing activities outdoors, all of which feed her deep sense of responsibility to protect the environment and connect with the stories of the people around her.
