Citizens’ Climate Lobby is a nonprofit, grassroots advocacy organization empowering people to exercise their personal talents to bring about meaningful political change for a livable world. The Grand Rapids Chapter is just one of hundreds of chapters across the country working with legislators toward this goal.
In 2018, the bipartisan Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act, S. 3791 / H.R. 7173, bills which aligns closely with CCL’s carbon pricing principles, was introduced in Congress. The Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act will drive down America’s carbon pollution and bring climate change under control, while unleashing American technology innovation and ingenuity. It’s an effective, bipartisan climate solution that is good for people and good for the economy.
CCL fully supports this bill and is working diligently toward its passage. The climate change solution economists and climate scientists alike say this is the “best first-step” to preventing the worst impacts of a warming world. Their market-based Carbon Fee and Dividend policy will drastically reduce emissions, create jobs, and support small businesses and families — all without growing government.
