West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and the Sierra Club Michigan Chapter will host a dialogue with Sierra Club Executive Director Michael Brune, at Rockford Construction on Friday, June 9 from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm. He will discuss the importance of climate action at every scale in the public and private sector, from global agreements to city pilot programs, from startups to multinational corporations.

Based in San Francisco, Brune is one of today’s most inspiring and effective environmental leaders. Prior to joining the Sierra Club, Brune led Rainforest Action Network for seven years. Under Brune’s leadership, the Sierra Club has grown to more than two million supporters and is at the forefront of the drive to move beyond fossil fuels to clean energy while also protecting America’s remaining wild places. A nationally recognized writer, speaker, and commentator on energy and environmental issues, Brune offered a detailed vision for a true clean-energy future in his acclaimed book, Coming Clean: Breaking America’s Addiction to Oil and Coal (2010). He holds degrees in economics and finance from West Chester University in Pennsylvania.
Brune is stopping in Grand Rapids to meet with WMSBF and local Sierra Club members en route to the Michigan chapter’s 50th Anniversary dinner in Ann Arbor the following night.
