West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum will celebrate its work and local sustainability at the fourth annual Triple Bottom Line Bash and Sustainable Business of the Year Awards on Wednesday, October 25 at the Grand Rapids Ballet.
The signature function for local sustainable business professionals in West Michigan, Triple Bottom Line Bash 2017 will feature dinner, drinks, networking, a performance from the ballet and recognition of the Sustainable Business of the Year and Hall of Fame honorees.
Nominations are now open for the 2017 Sustainable Business of the Year Awards.
WMSBF members interested in nominating their company or a peer for any or all of four available awards may do so by completing a brief nomination form by no later than Monday, July 31. Nominated companies will be asked to complete a short survey and provide a sustainability report or the equivalent by no later than Wednesday, August 9. Nominated companies will be sent surveys as nominations are received throughout July.
The West Michigan Sustainable Business of the Year Award is selected annually by a vote of the WMSBF membership, honoring the local company that best represents the values of the triple-bottom line. A list of finalists is selected by a committee comprised of past honorees and former WMSBF board presidents. Learn about past winners here.
This year, three additional awards will be given to local businesses representing the strategic objectives of the forum (final award names subject to change):
- The West Michigan Recycler of the Year will honor an organization for successful efforts to promote waste diversion and the development of a circular economy in West Michigan through excellence of internal programs and practices or promotion of diversion within its clients or community.
- The West Michigan Climate Action Award will honor an organization for adopting practices that demonstrate climate leadership locally and within their industry.
- The West Michigan Corporate Social Responsibility Award will honor an organization for successful efforts to promote corporate social responsibility, equity, empowerment and justice within its operations and the communities it serves.
The three strategic focus awards will be chosen by subcommittees of the WMSBF waste, climate and CSR committees. Winners will automatically be finalists for the Sustainable Business of the Year Award.
The Triple Bottom Line Bash will also feature the West Michigan Sustainable Business Hall of Fame and Future Hall of Fame Awards.
