Alison Sutter, Manager, Corporate Responsibility, SpartanNash

JFK_7737.jpgAlison Waske Sutter manages SpartanNash’s corporate responsibility programs, which include both environmental sustainability and social responsibility initiatives. She has over fifteen years of experience in the sustainability profession, including consulting work for The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Boston Children’s Hospital as well as serving as Metro Health Hospital’s sustainable business officer.

In addition, she practiced as an environmental attorney for several years at Warner Norcross & Judd. She currently serves as the President of the West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum and as a member of the Food Marketing Institute’s Sustainability Executive Council. In 2016, the West Michigan Environmental Action Council honored Alison with their annual Woman of Inspiration award. Alison received her law degree and masters in environmental management and policy from Indiana University and her bachelor of science in architecture from the University of Cincinnati. Alison enjoys backpacking through our national parks and participating in triathlons. She is also the
proud new mother of her son Shaw.

Alison has been a WMSBF Board member since 2010, and is currently serving as the WMSBF Board of Directors Immediate Past President.
