West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, Lakeshore Advantage and the Michigan Economic Development Corp’s Pure Michigan Business Connect program will present the 2014 West Michigan Sustainability Summit on October 30 at the Doubletree Hilton in Holland. The invitation-only matchmaking summit will create a targeted experience to help West Michigan purchasers meet price-competitive, quality-driven Michigan suppliers that have the capacity, certifications and talent to quote and win future contracts related to waste reduction, sustainable raw materials, ethical sourcing, green chemistry, minority ownership and other sustainability concerns.
Additionally, this summit will highlight the continuing commitment by West Michigan purchasers to sustainability and green products/services. The summit follows an existing model the MEDC has been using frequently on the other side of the state, with the addition of a sustainability twist. Purchasers include Haworth, Gentex, Magna, Kellogg, Aspen Surgical, Whirlpool, Herman Miller, Perrigo and Steelcase. Purchasers interested in participating should contact Daniel Schoonmaker at firstname.lastname@example.org or 616.422.7963 by September 9. A call for suppliers will go out later in the month.
