West Michigan Energy Leaders Regional Energy Planning Initiative

WMSBF is seeking members able to represent sustainable business interests at the West Michigan Energy Leaders Regional Energy Planning Forum at Grand Valley State University in Allendale on Tuesday, October 15 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., or as available during that time.

West Michigan Energy Leaders is an initiative of West Michigan Environmental Action Council and GVSU designed to facilitate the development of strategic and sustainable energy projects in our region. The forum will provide an opportunity to share information, identify issues, and highlight opportunities through the course of a facilitated forum.  By bringing together our region’s top energy thinkers and doers to discuss potential projects, policy, metrics, and finance, we hope to provide the necessary momentum to position West Michigan as an energy leader and model community.

Eight project proposals will be introduced at the meeting involving community solar development, energy financing, low-income heating, energy efficiency retrofits, and the living building challenge. Forum representatives will be asked to provide feedback on these proposals on behalf of the sustainable business community and evaluate potential opportunities for future forum partnership.  Representatives will receive a 50% discount on forum admission.  To sign up or learn more contact Daniel Schoonmaker at dschoonmaker@wmsbf.org.
