Four forum members were honored by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality earlier this month at the annual Neighborhood Environmental Partner Awards, including Pilgrim Manor, Herman Miller and Holland Board of Public Works. Pilgrim Manor also received a special recognition from State Senator Dave Hildenbrand and State Representative Winnie Brinks thanking the retirement community for its continued contribution to sustainability within their districts.
The Neighborhood Environmental Partners Gold Awards Program was developed by the DEQ to recognize facilities and their community partners who have worked together to improve the environment in their community by implementing ongoing environmental projects. Clean Corporate Citizens; DEQ Pollution Prevention Partners and their community partners are eligible to receive a Neighborhood Environmental Partners Gold award.
A total of six West Michigan recipients received the award this year, including ADAC Automotive, Light Corp, and Grand Haven Board of Light & Power. Forum member Consumers Energy was honored for facilities elsewhere in the state.
